Expert Green to Clean Service, New Braunfels, TX
From Green to Swimmable, Fast
If your pool has turned green, you do not need a lecture, you need it fixed. Algae takes hold fast in our climate, and a pool that looked fine last week can be cloudy and green within days. Poncho’s green to clean service clears algae, restores water clarity, and gets your pool back to safe, swimmable condition, usually within a matter of days depending on severity. We have seen what Texas heat can do to a pool, and we know how to bring it back.
Why Pools Turn Green So Fast in New Braunfels
Our climate is practically built for algae. Intense summer heat, over 220 sunny days a year, and powerful UV that burns off chlorine quickly create perfect growing conditions. Add a missed week of service, a pump or filter problem that stalls circulation, or heavy pollen feeding the water, and algae can bloom in under 48 hours. The good news is that most green pools can be recovered, and the sooner we start, the faster and less expensive it is.

Our Green to Clean Process
Restoring a green pool is methodical work, and our green pool restoration service follows a proven sequence:
Assess the water. We test to understand what we are dealing with, the type of algae and how far the chemistry has drifted, so we treat it correctly rather than guessing. This includes identifying tougher strains that may require black algae pool treatment or mustard algae pool cleaning. As a trusted pool algae removal company, we diagnose problems precisely so treatment is efficient.
Shock and treat. We apply heavy-duty oxidizing shock and the appropriate algaecide to kill the active algae throughout the pool, including an algae shock service for pools tailored to your specific conditions as part of our pool algae treatment service.
Brush every surface. Algae clings to walls, steps, and corners, so we brush thoroughly to break up colonies and let the chemicals reach them.
Filter and circulate. We make sure your filtration is running properly to capture dead algae, cleaning or addressing the filter as needed, since a clogged filter will stall the whole recovery.
Balance and verify. Once the water clears, we balance the full chemistry so the pool is safe to swim and far less likely to turn again. For clients who prefer natural pool maintenance, we can discuss options that support an eco-friendly pool once chemistry is stabilized.
For severe staining after cleanup, our back to blue pool service may be recommended once the water is clear.
How Long Does It Take?
Most pools return to swimmable condition within 24 to 72 hours with our green pool recovery service, though heavily neglected pools can take longer and occasionally need a deeper intervention. If a pool has been green for a long time and the plaster is badly stained, an acid wash may be recommended once the water is clear, and in extreme cases a full drain and clean. We will tell you honestly what your pool needs.
Keeping It From Happening Again
Recovering a green pool is satisfying, but not having one in the first place is better. The single best protection is consistent weekly pool service, which keeps your sanitizer and chemistry in the range where algae cannot get started. Healthy circulation matters too, so addressing any pump or filter issues and keeping the filter clean all work together to keep your water clear through the worst of the Texas heat. We also offer natural pool maintenance options to help maintain an eco-friendly pool without sacrificing clarity.
